The Phil and Gerry Rominger Foundation donated $127,529 to the South Range Foundation.
South Range senior Sarah Baker donated the $1,000 that she won for her recycling project as part of her senior project for graduation. The foundation added $18,000 to its fund to help the students of South Range.
“As funding for educational extracurricular activities is getting tougher to come by, our foundation is becoming a critical source for our children,” said Michael Meloy, foundation president and a South Range parent. “We contribute where the tax dollars do not.”
The South Range Schools Foundation was established to enhance the academic and educational experiences for the children and teachers of South Range Schools.
It is a nonprofit organization that uses funds from donations to provide support to all students and teachers of the district.
All grants and purchases come from donations and at no cost to taxpayers.
The foundation also is responsible for providing assistance in all aspects related to the school district.
Fundraising events, along with generous private donations, have enabled the foundation to enhance and enrich the academic and extracurricular setting by providing the necessary resources for all students in the South Range Schools.
This year, the South Range Foundation has approved these grant amounts that teachers have submitted to improve the learning and growth: South Range Elementary, $11,301.05; South Range Middle School, $7,069.41; South Range High School, $10,803.22; and technology, $22,006. This year’s total grant contribution is $51,180.
