v New Music Festival concert, 4 p.m.: This annual concert (free admission) spotlights new compositions of classical music and will feature the Aurista Chamber Music Duo of Thomas Osuga on violin and Sho Omagari on piano. It’s at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown.

v Mahoning Valley Chorale, 3 p.m.: The music of Italy, including opera, folk songs and love songs, are the focus of this concert ($10, includes wine and hors d’oeuvres) at the Brier Hill Cultural Center, 145 Jefferson St., Youngstown; 330-707-2144.

Arts day camp at Butler branch

HOWLAND

The Butler Institute of American Art will host a two-week arts day camp at its Trumbull branch, 9350 E. Market St., July 21-24 and July 28-31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

The camp will offer youngsters the opportunity to explore the visual arts. With the theme “Celebrations,” it will draw on a wide range of world holidays. Students will create works in four main media; drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.

Campers must be between age 8 and 12 by July 15. They will be expected to attend the orientation at 9 a.m. on the first day of camp, July 21, and must attend all eight days of this program. To apply, campers must submit a registration form with the fee of $135. Free enrollments are available for IEP, physically or learning disabled, and financially disadvantaged campers.
