Amanda Byler, a 9-year-old Amish girl, accidentally shot in the pelvis with a 12 gauge shot gun April 18. is in Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she has undergone three major surgeries with more to follow. Three arrested

Township police arrested three people early Friday as suspects who broke into cars and garages after a Euclid Boulevard resident reported the incident. Damon Banks-Lopez, 18, and Dontrell Collins, 18, both of Youngstown, are charged with contributing to the burglary, unruliness delinquency of a minor, obstructing official business and possession of criminal tools. A 15-year-old suspect of Youngstown is charged with burglary, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and possession of criminal tools.

Lawrence County’s discount period for paying 2015 county taxes ends May 4. Individuals can drop payments off, in the form of cash or check, at Perry Township municipal building, 284 Reno Road, Portersville, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, or Neshannock Township municipal building, 3131 Mercer Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. Cash, check or credit card payments (plus a convenience fee of 2.45 percent) are accepted at the treasurer’s office, 430 Court St. Payments can be mailed if postmarked by May 4.
