YOUNGSTOWN

The “Fresh” Church, 3147 Glenwood Ave., will host Bishop F. Josephus “Joey” Johnson II as guest speaker at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. He is the organizer and senior pastor of The House of the Lord in Akron.

Bishop Johnson is presiding bishop of Beth-El Fellowship of Visionary Churches.

He is a Bible scholar, counselor, author, educator, conference speaker and workshop facilitator.

People’s Chapel to mark anniversary

People’s Chapel, 2114 Hillman St., will celebrate its 43rd anniversary during the worship service at 11 a.m. May 3. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Martha Taylor of Metro Assembly of God.

Church anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 827 Wilson Ave., will celebrate 95 years of “prayer, praise and purpose” during a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. May 2. Speaker will be minister Denise Simmons.

The menu will include sausage, bacon, eggs, grits, homefries, toast, fruit, juice and coffee.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Sponsor is the Deacon and Deaconess Ministries.
