The Canfield Lions Club hosted it 15th annual Craft, Antique and Quilt Show at the Canfield High School March 28. The show offered 130 vendors with a wide variety of items, including crafts, antiques, jewelry, Easter treats, art, floral arrangements, quilts and more.

“I expect we will have 1,100-1,200 people come through throughout the day,” said Caroline Phillips, Craft, Antique and Quilt Show chairperson.

The show also offered a 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction and a hot lunch, with the specialty item of wedding soup.

“Members of the Lions donated most of the baskets for the Chinese auction, with several local businesses helping us out, too,” Phillips said.

The Canfield Lions will use proceeds from the show to help the several charities they help.

“The money will go back into the community by ways of charities the Canfield Lions donate to. We provide eye exams, eye glasses and eye surgeries for those who need help. We also help local families in need throughout the year. We partner with Canfield Rotary, Canfield Community Care Net and the Knights of Columbus at the holidays to help provide food and gifts for families in need,” Phillips said.

Several Lions members were on hand at the show, helping in all aspects, including selling raffle tickets and serving lunch.

The Canfield High School Leos were also on hand to help out with the show.

“The Leos are so helpful and so good. They are mostly helping the vendors today. They are taking their lunch orders and then delivering the food to the vendors so they don’t have to leave their tables. We really appreciate their help,” Phillips said.

Vendor Debra Hilbert, of Debbie’s Delights, has been attending this show for at least 12 years.

“This show is awesome. I am always ready to help the Canfield Lions. They are such nice people and this a very well-organized show. They make it very easy for the vendors, which is so nice,” Hilbert said.

According to Phillips, the show is always offered before Easter.

“We always hold the show in the spring before Easter. We get several repeat vendors but there is always something new every year. Someone always comes up with a new idea and brings it here. Next year’s show is set for March 12,” Phillips said.
