Church is sponsoring auction for van

NEW WATERFORD

New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 state Route 46, will be hosting an auction at 1 p.m. Sunday to help off-set the cost of a newer wheelchair van for Caleb Cope. Cope is a 21- year-old man who was injured in 2007 in a golf-cart accident.

There will be a live auction and a basket auction. The live auction is offering a boat, sports memorabilia, furniture, appliances, tools, collectible comic books and dolls, handmade items, quilts, wooden crafts, art, tickets, timeshares, gift cards, etc.

Pancake breakfast to benefit animals

CANFIELD

Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road, is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The event will help earn funds to build holding kennels at local police departments for neglected or lost animals and for a spay/neuter program.

The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 6 and under.

Library to host technology lab

EAST PALESTINE

East Palestine Memorial Public Library, 309 N. Market St., is hosting an Emerging Technology Lab program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday about the newest technology gadgets. There are many new technologies from fitness trackers to smart watches to home automation and more.

Invasive plants to be program topic

CANFIELD

Audubon Society/Mahoning Valley invites the public to “Knowing, Identifying and Controlling Invasive Plants,” a program presented by Eric Barrett of OSU Extension from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana Canfield Road, (Route 46).

Become a first detector to help control invasive plants and encourage others to stop planting and cultivating these plants.
