Man suspected in thefts from cars

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Police arrested a man they say entered several unlocked cars overnight from Wednesday to Thursday and stole GPS systems, tablets and money.

Jay Weston, whom police said is homeless, was arraigned in Struthers Municipal Court Wednesday on charges of possession of drug abuse instruments and receiving stolen property. He was also arraigned for failing to appear on drug charges. Police had a warrant for him when the midnight-turn officer found him at the Camelot Trailer Park on Main Street with a backpack that had syringes and the stolen property in it, a police report says.

Police still have more property to identify, and they ask anyone who has property missing from their vehicle to call the department at 330-542-2846.
