Salem man face menacing charge in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A Salem man faces a menacing charge after police said he threatened a Child Advocacy Center employee.

Police say Lonnie Cook, 41, in March, called the center, which issues reports about suspected child abuse for the county children’s services board, and threatened a worker because of a report the center wrote about Cook and his child. Cook reportedly is involved in a child-custody case, authorities said.

Cook was released on a summons after his arrest Monday and is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday.
