“Antiques roadshow” (9 p.m., pbs): An autograph book that has signatures of John Steinbeck, Leo Tolstoy and Mark Twain is appraised.

“Independent Lens” (10 p.m., WQED-PBS): “The Great Invisible” examines the 2012 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico through witness accounts and news footage.

“Time Traveling with Brian Unger” (10 p.m., Travel Channel): This new historical series has its witty host exploring tales of yesteryear with the aid of CGI graphics. Among the first stops: San Francisco in the early 1900s, when the Golden Gate Bridge was still but a dream.

Middle schools team up for concert

BOARDMAN

Boardman Center and Glenwood middle schools will present an eighth-grade band concert featuring the combined jazz ensembles Friday at 7 p.m. in the Boardman Center Middle School large auditorium.

Selections will include a medley of metal songs, music from “The Phantom of the Opera” and a Megan Trainor medley. Admission is $3 ($2 for seniors students; free for children under 10).

Steel Town art at park gift shop

YOUNGSTOWN

The gift shop at Lanterman’s Mill, in Mill Creek Park at 980 Canfield Road, is an authorized dealer of Steel Town Studios artwork, created by local fine graphic artist Bob Barko Jr.

Available at the shop are prints of art depicting Mill Creek Park, Idora Park, Isaly’s, the city’s steel mills and skyline and the 3-foot long “Here in Youngstown” mural print. Products also include black and white historic photo reproductions and collectible items, including mugs, decals and (in the near future) T-shirts.
