PPG Reflections and Memories Relay for Life is hosting a Car/Bike Cruise-In from 1 to 4 p.m. May 16 at McCandless Ford, 8416 Sharon Mercer Road. Driver registration is $5. There will be a 50/50 drawing, basket auction, music with DJ Rick, food and a driver-only drawing. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s 24-hour Relay For Life at Mercer High School, 545 West Butler St., which will take place June 20 at 9 a.m.

Appliance recycling

YOUNGSTOWN

Green Youngstown is sponsoring an appliance recycling drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 at the Covelli Center, 229 E. Front St. Items that will be accepted include refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and dryers. Freon will be removed free of charge. Warren SCOPE, 220 W. Market St., will offer an informational session on creating a “My SS Acct” from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. This tool, which offers a quick, secure and easy plan, will help participants plan for the future and verify Social Security earnings.

Canada geese

The public is invited to learn more about conflict-management with Canada geese during a free program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 29 at Lariccia Family Community Center’s Rotary room in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. The seminar will be led by Ohio Division of Wildlife staff members who specialize in dealing with geese conflicts. Topics: Canada geese biology, ecology and population trends. This program is best suited for age 16 and up. Pre-registration is required as seating is limited.
