Park fundraiser to benefit animals

AUSTINTOWN

Students at Youngstown State University are sponsoring a fundraiser to benefit the Animal Charity Humane Society from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Law enforcement will visit with the canine unit and a SWAT car. Also featured will be Aut Mori Grotto clowns, a 50-50 raffle, a basket auction and live music.

Camp Fitch offers 4 open house dates

Niles Relay for Life will go with a glow

American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Niles plans a 5K Glow Run/Walk on May 1 during the relay.

Top runners will receive awards, and goody bags are guaranteed for the first 50 people who register. The cost to enter is $20 by April 25 and $25 after that. Runners can register the day of the race, but only cash or check payments will be accepted.

Registration will take place from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mayor Infante Wellness Center, 216 Sharkey Road, at Waddell Park. The race will begin at 11.

Dinner fundraiser will honor Woodberry

YOUNGSTOWN

“Catch Me If You Can” all-you-can-eat pancake dinner fundraiser will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 1 at St. Michael’s Hall, 125 Steel St., in honor of Lillie Mae Woodberry.

Dinners cost $10 for adults and $4 for kids under 4. Proceeds go to local victims of domestic violence.

Salem chamber plans memorial golf outing

The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Al Cleveland Memorial Golf Outing on June 15 at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club, 12688 Salem-Warren Road.

A fee of $100 per person includes 18 holes with a cart, lunch, unlimited beverages, a steak dinner, prizes and more.
