Moving Forward race/walk is April 25 in Columbiana

COLUMBIANA

Heartland Christian School is announcing its first Moving Forward 5K Race and Walk, which will take place Saturday at Firestone Park, 347 E. Park Ave.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., with an 8 a.m. race start time. The cost to enter the 5K is $30.

In addition to the 5K race, there will be a walk beginning at 9:30 a.m., and a Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m., with registration fees of $20 and $5, respectively.

Participants in the 5K race will be eligible for awards in various age categories. Runners and walkers will complete a heart-shaped course around Firestone Park.

After the event, attendees are invited to stay for entertainment, including a live band, vendor booths and activities for the children.

The morning of the race, there also will be a fundraising pancake breakfast in Pavilion No. 2 from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Race/walk participants will receive a coupon for $3 off the pancake breakfast.
