‘Good Morning, Warren’ event set

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Good Morning, Warren” event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday at the Hippodrome Banquet Center, 150 High St.

Mayor Doug Franklin, Matt Martin, executive director of the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, and Kathy Cook, president, St. Joseph Warren Hospital, will all speak at the event.

Advanced reservations are required by Monday.

Looking for hosts for summer program

YOUNGSTOWN

The OH-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative is looking for companies to host local educators for the Summer 2015 Educator in the Manufacturing Workplace Program. Employers are asked to provide:

32 hours of experience at the company from June 19 to Aug. 7.

A point of contact for the educator.

Provide access to multiple personnel and subject matter experts employed in various occupations.

A planned schedule with an outline of purposeful activities for the educator.

Tech Belt summit

Data Recovery Services LLC, in partnership with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, will have the third-annual Tech Belt Technology Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 14 at the YSU Williamson College of Business Administration, 1 University Plaza, Youngstown.

The event gives Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania business decision-makers a chance to meet with select vendors and information technology solutions-provider companies and discuss their latest technologies and solutions.

BBB Torch Awards winners announced

The Better Business Bureau serving Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties announced the Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust winners Tuesday.

Winners of the Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust are: Baird Brothers Sawmill Inc. of Canfield; Millwood Inc. of Vienna; and Gettemy Drain Service of Canfield.

The Torch Award for Civic Leadership goes to Scott Schulick. And the Torch Award for Nonprofit Excellence goes to Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley.

The award presentation will take place May 8 at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, Poland. The event celebrates BBB-accredited businesses and leaders that exemplify BBB Standards for Trust.
