City police investigating homicide on East side, shooting on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for leads in a shooting on the East Side in which a person died. The shooting was reported late Friday afternoon on Jackson Street near Wilson Avenue.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., police were called to Philadelphia Avenue near Homestead to answer a call of a shooting. Police said one person was taken to the St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Police were told shots were fired from a white Kia.
