Aim Services Co.’s recent acquisition of Bessemer Supply enabled the company to grow in more ways than one.

In February, after the acquisition, the Girard-based company tripled its amount of employees, increased the amount of equipment it has and expanded its customer base.

“It is exciting to grow,” said Jason Olesh, director of business development at Aim Services. “Our footprint is in the area. It is nice to be able to expand within the Mahoning and Shenango Valley areas.”

Aim Services, a part of the Aim Family of Companies, is a transportation service provider for oil and gas companies in both the Utica and Marcellus shale plays.

Aim Services began in 2013 with a small fleet of water trucks.

Bessemer Supply is a Bessemer, Pa.-based trucking company founded by Kim Parrott in the early 1980s. Parrott decided to transition to retirement and wanted to find a company that would take on Bessemer Supply.

“We were looking at options to grow our fleet and diversify our menu of services, and when this opportunity came to the table, it made perfect sense for us,” Olesh said.

Before acquiring Bessemer Supply, Aim Services had 21 employees. Bessemer’s about 45 employees made that go to more than 60 employees.

The water-truck fleet went from seven to 21, Olesh said.

Aim will continue operations at both locations: 1500 Trumbull Ave. in Girard and 315 E. Poland Ave. in Bessemer, Pa.
