Ronald McDonald House Charities to donate $6,400 to Howland rehabilitation center

Board members from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western Pennsylvania will announce today that it will help about 40 physically challenged local youths through a $6,400 grant to Children’s Rehabilitation Center, 885 Howland- Wilson Road NE.

The grant will be used for educational materials and field trips and to purchase equipment and supplies for nutritional cooking and “Make-and-Take” projects.

Youths age 3 to 18 will benefit from this program, which is called Fitness for the Physically Challenged.

“We’re excited to be a part of a program which helps give children a much brighter future, and we offer the vital support to this outstanding program that advances Ronald McDonald House Charities’ goal of lifting children to a better tomorrow,” said Herb Washington, RMHC board president and McDonald’s owner/operator.

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley and Western Pennsylvania is to help youth in the Mahoning Valley and western Pennsylvania by assisting with funding to health/educational programs for people up to age 21.
