Foo Fighters plan free Niles concert Saturday


NILES — The Foo Fighters will perform at The Record Connection, in Pine Tree Place shopping center, McKinley Heights, Saturday at part of National Record Store Day.

Only 150 people will be able to see the band, according to a message posted on The Record Connection’s Facebook page.

The Foo Fighters are led by Dave Grohl, who was born in Warren and lived there briefly as a small child. The band will be in northeast Ohio Saturday because it will take perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that night in Cleveland.

Admission to Saturday’s show at The Record Connection is free. Those who want to attend must preorder Foo Fighters’ “Songs from the Laundry Room,” a collection of demos and covers by the Foo Fighters, at the store starting at 10 a.m. Thursday. There will be no phone or Internet orders.

There is a limit of one ticket per customer and each customer must provide a valid photo ID on reservation and at check-in. Tickets are non-transferable.
