Wine and Wildlife will benefit Beaver Creek education center

Staff report

EAST LIVERPOOL

Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center, 12798 Echo Dell Road, will have its season-opening fundraiser, Wine and Wildlife, at 6:30 p.m. April 25.

The evening will feature appetizers, chocolate desserts, wine-tasting and a basket auction, along with a first look at two newly redesigned exhibit rooms. One of the center’s supporters will be honored.

To support the Wildlife Center by attending the event, call Karen Henry at 330-932-0908 for reservations.

The center is located near the entrance to Beaver Creek State Park. Several rooms display wildlife, including plants and trees, fish, birds, insects and mammals.

There’s also a library, a wildlife viewing room and a large classroom-meeting room, where programs are presented throughout the summer.

The Wildlife Center is a popular field trip destination for many local schools in the spring and early fall. The nonprofit organization is staffed and supported by volunteers who are dedicated to educating community members of all ages about the beauty and importance of the natural world, with a special emphasis on Ohio wildlife.

Although the center will open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays beginning May 2, the Wine and Wildlife evening is an invitational event that provides a private preview of this season’s new exhibits and project plans.
