The American Library Association on Monday released its annual list of the books that elicit the most complaints from parents, educators and others in the local community. Here are the top five:
v “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian”: by Sherman Alexie, the book is a prize-winning, autobiographical novel of high school life.
v “Persepolis”: a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi.
v “And Tango Makes Three”: by Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson, it is a picture book about two male penguins raising a baby penguin.
v “The Bluest Eye”: the debut novel by Toni Morrison.
v “The Kite Runner”: Khaled Hosseini’s million-selling novel.
“NCIS” (8 p.m., CBS): Gibbs and Bishop head to Afghanistan where, as far as I know, they don’t engage in any horse milking.
“Deadliest Catch” (9 p.m., Discovery): Season 11 sets sail.
“iZombie” (9 p.m., The CW): Alpha Kappa . Yuck! On “iZombie,” Liv reluctantly eats the brains of her murdered sorority sister to gain insight into her death. Pass the Tums, please.
“Justified” (10 p.m., FX): We’re sad to report that “Justified,” with its sharpshooting hero Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), ends its rollicking run tonight. Something tells us he will go out with a bang.
