Legacy Dog Rescue to host adoption event

Legacy Dog Rescue, a nonprofit organization, will host Hogs and Dogs, an adoption event and lunch from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Harley Davidson shop, 2102 Elm Road. Basket raffle prizes will include a $75 gas card and a $25 Harley Davidson gift card.

By attending you help to support abused, neglected and abandoned dogs of Trumbull and Mahoning County.

YMCAs will celebrate Healthy Kids Day

The Davis Family Y in Boardman and the Youngstown Central Y downtown are hosting a free community event from noon to 3 p.m. April 25 to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active.

YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families, features activities such as games, arts and crafts, swimming, class demos, healthy snacks and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home.

Church will sponsor Night in New York

LIBERTY

First Christian Assembly, 3243 Cardinal Drive, is having a family friendly fundraising event from 5 to 8 p.m. April 25.

A Night In New York will have various food vendors, entertainment for all ages and a basket auction.

The event’s proceeds will be used to help fund the missions team trip to the New York Dream Center. There they will learn various ways to help communities meet their essential needs with the goal of bringing this type of outreach to the Valley.

St. Charles to host author Gianetti

BOARDMAN

The Library Committee of St. Charles Parish, 7345 Westview Drive, will host author Michele Gianetti at 7 p.m. April 29 in the St. Matthew Room in the Ministries Building.

Gianetti will discuss her book, “I Believe in You: a Mother and Daughter’s Special Journey.” The book details the journey with her daughter, Elizabeth, who was diagnosed as a small child with sensory processing disorder and dyspraxia.

Gianetti’s faith grew as she met others who gave her the tools needed to help Elizabeth develop to her full potential.

The book will be available for autographing at a cost of $15.99. Light refreshments will be served. For information call the parish office at 330-758-2325.
