Gas prices are up

Ohio gas prices are up to start the workweek.
The state average for a gallon of regular gas was $2.34 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up 9 cents from a week ago, but $1.35 less than last year at this time.
Ohio prices were slightly less than the national average, which was $2.39 per gallon Monday. That’s unchanged from a week ago and $1.25 less than this time last year.
Among Ohio’s metropolitan areas, the Canton and Massillon areas had the lowest average Monday at $2.29 per gallon.
JFS jobs program runs May 1-Oct. 31

The Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services will administer its summer jobs program for students age 16 to 24. The program begins May 1 and ends Oct. 31. The department will begin taking applications Monday at its offices at Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave.

YNDC is hiring for maintenance work
YOUNGSTOWN
Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. is seeking qualified applicants to fill several newly created property-maintenance team-member positions.
The members will cut grass at vacant homes, conduct boarding and cleanups of vacant homes and do other field and maintenance projects to improve the quality of life in city neighborhoods. The pay is $13 per hour.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and have their own transportation. The application deadline is Friday.

Custom-wheelchair company opens
GIRARD
A new National Seating & Mobility branch recently opened at 115 W. Prospect St., Suite 200, and will serve Northeast Ohio. The company, founded in 1992, provides clients with custom wheelchairs.
