Magazine names YSU student affairs division one of “Most Promising Places to Work”

Youngstown State University’s Division of Student Affairs has been named one of the 15+ Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs in the nation.

The national list was developed by the Center for Higher Education Enterprise as part of a partnership with Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine and the American College Personnel Association — College Student Educators International.

It is the second-consecutive year YSU made the list.

The list is based on workplace diversity, staffing practices and work environment and includes categories such as family friendliness, salary/benefits and professional development opportunities.

“It is our mission to highlight and promote leading examples of diversity and inclusion as examples to all,” said Ralph Newell, vice president of business development and technology for Diverse. “We are pleased to partner with ACPA and CHEE to highlight the institutions recognized this year.”

In addition to YSU, others on the list of the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs are California State University Channel Islands, Florida State University, Fresno State, Indiana University Southeast, McKendree University, Ohio State University, Saint Louis University, Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, W.Va.), Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Stony Brook University, Sweet Briar College (Virginia), University of Alabama, University of Maine at Machias, University of Maryland/Baltimore County, University of Vermont and the University of West Georgia.
