Areas in Columbiana County lost power Sunday afternoon, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV.

Crews said a tree fell on a power line on Lee Avenue in Lisbon, causing the problem. Power was restored to the Leetonia, Lisbon and Salem areas Sunday night.

Free health clinic

WARREN

A free health clinic called Hands of Hope will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday at Access Health Mahoning Valley, 418 Main Ave. SW. Reservations are required. Call 330-373-0703.

The clinic, sponsored by nonprofits Hands of Hope and Access Health Mahoning Valley, features volunteer doctors led by Dr. Steven Swain, who will provide free exams for uninsured adults 19 to 64 with annual incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

That equates to $23,540 for a one-person household, $31,860 for a two-person household, $40,180 for a three-person household, and $48,500 for a four-person household.

In addition, a navigator from Access Health Mahoning Valley will be available to help people enroll in health coverage, such as Ohio’s expanded Medicaid program.

Meeting canceled

The Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission meeting planned for Wednesday at Oakill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave., has been canceled due to commissioner training.

Produce training

CANFIELD

Mahoning County’s Ohio State University Extension office will offer a produce safety and good agricultural practices, or GAP, training from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the extension office, 490 S. Broad St.

The educational course will examine ways to reduce risks of on-farm produce contamination. Topics will include water quality, worker training, health and hygiene, manure and compost handling, domestic and wild animals and more.
