Event will teach how to plant tree seedlings

A program to teach participants how to plant tree seedlings will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Waterworth Memorial Park on Superior Avenue.
The event is in time for Earth Day celebrations and is hosted by Salem Public Library and Salem Parks and Recreation as part of “Go Wild in the Parks.”
Jason Reynolds of Columbiana County Soil and Water Conservation District will give a planting demonstration and discuss the do’s and don’ts. Everyone is encouraged to attend the free program. Spring fashion event to boost cancer fund

Silver Lining Cancer Fund Committee will host its annual spring fashion event “The B’s” at 1 p.m. April 19 A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St.
The event includes brunch by A La Cart, beauty by Salon Shericci and boutique fashions by Chico’s & Chic Chateau for Children.
The nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing financial assistance to patients receiving cancer treatment in our area. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds stay in the Mahoning Valley. For tickets call Cathy Hura at 330-519-3407.
YMCA to host Stand Against Racism
YOUNGSTOWN
YWCA of Youngstown, will host its third annual Stand Against Racism from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 23 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.
Included will be a performance of “Ragtime” by students from Chaney High School and a small group discussion. The event is free and open to the public.
