Oil spill cleanup
CORTLAND
Ohio Edison is working to clean up Mosquito Lake after oil spilled into it from a Warren Meadville Road substation, Vindicator broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV reported.
Company officials said the mineral oil leak, discovered Friday, was from a piece of equipment and heavy rains caused the oil to move beyond catch basins.
The situation resulted in a temporary power outage for about 5,000 First Energy customers.
Clean-up is slated to be complete this weekend, WFMJ reported.
