Phantoms beat Team USA to close out regular season

The Youngstown Phantoms had nothing left to accomplish in Saturday night’s regular season finale.

That didn’t stop them from putting on a clinIc, sending the U.S. National under-17 team home with a 7-1 victory in front 4,017 fans at the Covelli Centre.

Kyle Connor scored a pair of goals during a six-goal third period to give the Phantoms their 40th win of the season.

The Clark Cup Playoffs start Wednesday for the Phantoms, who travel to Muskegon for game one before returning home for games two and three on Friday and Saturday night at the Covelli Centre.
