BASEBALL

Austintown Fitch 12, Bamberg-Ehrhardt (SC) 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Patrick Gerberry led the Falcons’ offense with three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. Jared Kapturasky’s two hits included a double and drove in three runs. He also scored twice. Dominic DiFransesco had two hits and scored twice while Nick Heitzer scored four runs. Winning pitcher Brian Beany allowed three hits, struck out three and walked five.

Poland 5, Union Grove (Wisc.) 4

COCOA BEACH, FLA.

Dom Lipari went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and Dan Klase earned his first varsity win to help Poland finish its Florida trip unbeaten. Ricky Svetlak was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Adam Knight came in for a two inning save for the Bulldogs (5-0).

Columbiana 6, Mineral Ridge 3

STRUTHERS

Devin Rice pitched seven innings giving up three hits and striking out 10 for the Clippers. Keenan Green had two hits and three RBIs. Nick Ferguson scored two runs for the Rams.

Jackson-Milton 16, United 6, 5 innings

NORTH JACKSON

Justin Rentz went five innings and had eight strikeouts on the mound for the Bluejays (4-0). Rentz also had two hits and two RBIs. John Voland added two hits and three RBIs.

Struthers 11, Youngstown Christian 0, 5 innings

STRUTHERS

John Medvic worked three hitless innings, striking out seven, and helped his own cause with a single, double and two RBIs in the Wildcats’ victory. Jake Rudzik doubled and tripled for Struthers (1-4) and Brent Stocker singled twice and drove in two runs. Christian Nemeth added a double.

SOFTBALL

Springfield 13, Campbell 3

CAMPBELL

Cassie Bacon’s two hits included a triple and drove in two runs for the Tigers (2-1). Lindsey Druschel’s two hits included a double and brought home two runs.
