Miss Tayag, Mr. McGlaughlin to wed May 9

SMITHFIELD, VA.

Laurence W. and Dr. Beth Julian McLaughlin of Smithfield, Va., formerly of Hubbard, are announcing the engagement of their son, Sean Jared McLaughlin of Hickory, N.C., and Jean Manual-Tayag of Winchester, Va.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Reul James and Dr. Maria Jeraldine Tayag of Waterford, Va.

The couple’s wedding will take place at 10 a.m. May 9 at Old Stone Church in Winchester. Invitations have been issued for the ceremony and for a reception afterward at The George Washington Grand Hotel Ballroom.

The bride-elect graduated from Shenandoah University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She is attending the university’s pharmacy school in pursuit of a doctorate while working as a pharmacist intern.

The prospective groom graduated from Shenandoah University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s in business administration. He holds a position in trade marketing with Newell Rubbermaid Commercial Products in Huntersville, N.C.
