Roller Derby girls face Canadians

SALEM

The Little Steel Derby Girls Lawless Rollers will have a match against the Royal City Roller Girls of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Salem Fun Factory, 520 E. Pershing St.

It will be the first time Little Steel has hosted the Canadian team. The match is sanctioned for rankings through the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

Pre-sale tickets are $10, and general admission tickets will be sold at the door for $15 (free for children 10 and younger), and senior and military discounts are available. For details, go to littlesteelderbygirls.com.

Youth concert band with two soloists

YOUNGSTOWN

The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band will present its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. Tickets are on sale now at stambaughauditorium.com or by phone at 330-259-0555.

The concert will feature two senior soloists, Daniel Slencsak (alto saxophone) of Howland High School; and Ryan Wolanzyk (trumpet) of Lakeview High.

The SYCB is composed of the top high school musicians from Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

Students must go through auditions to participate.
