BREAKING NEWS | Seman indicted on bribery charges

YOUNGSTOWN — The suspect in the rape of a 10-year-old girl who died in the fire March 30 was indicted today by a Mahoning County grand jury on two counts of bribery.

Robert Seman, 46, of West Calla Road, Green, is accused of trying to bribe his ex-wife on March 17 and 26, who is a witness in the case against him.

Seman was to go on trial March 30, however the victim in his case, Corinne Gump and her grandparents William and Judith Schmidt, were killed in a fire at the Schmidt’s Powers Way home just hours before Seman’s trial was to start.

Seman has been in the Mahoning County jail after his bond was revoked March 30. A cause for the fire has not yet been determined.
