Former Ohio trooper gets 5 years for coercing women motorists

COLUMBUS (AP) — A former trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for violating the civil rights of female motorists by forcing them into sexual acts in exchange for dropping traffic charges.

The U.S. Department of Justice says Bryan Lee, 31, was sentenced today in Columbus after pleading guilty in October to four counts of violating the civil rights of the women motorists and a count of cyberstalking involving threatening messages sent to a woman pulled over twice within a month’s time.

The plea followed an investigation into traffic stops performed by Lee from 2006 through October 2013. The patrol says a routine inspection of dash cam video uncovered the wrongdoing.
