Bar, bands to unite for fallen friend
Several bands and entertainers are getting together Sunday for a fundraiser and memorial for the late Donald LoGiudice II, who died last week.
The event will run from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Martini Bros. Burger Bar, 110 W. Federal St. in downtown Youngstown, where LoGiudice had worked. A portion of food sales and bar tips will be donated to his family, as will donations collected at the door.
LoGiudice, who died last week, was a familiar face and friend to many in the downtown scene. Calling hours will be Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home in Boardman.
Scheduled to perform Sunday are Shiloh Hawkins, Eric Lewis, Baxter Burgandy, Bernadette Lim, Lee and Blake Beitzel, DJ Johnny Russo and Tribe of Eos.
THE FRINGE MAKES CHANGE
Local rock cover band The Fringe has added Jenny Brady (lead vocals and keyboards), to replace two original members, Bridget Yurcisin and Ray Francisco. The lineup also includes Robert Bernard on lead guitar; Sam Morris, bass; and John Burlock, drums. Their next show is at Clark’s Bar on April 17. Go to TheFringeRocks.com.

BROWNLEE ON THE COVER
Lawrence Brownlee, the opera star who hails from Youngstown, is one of the subjects of the cover story in the March 31 edition of Ebony magazine. Brownlee will perform in concert April 19 at Ford Family Recital Hall in Youngstown.
MILK STOUT AT RUST BELT
McPoyle’s Milk Stout is back at Rust Belt Brewing Tap House on East Commerce Street, downtown Youngstown. The local craft brewer recently brewed up a fresh batch of the rich beer — a treat that is only intermittently available.
Jackie O’s Brewery in Athens will be at Rust Belt tonight from 7 p.m. to midnight for a tap takeover.
