David R. Moore Jr., 23, of Oakdale Drive Northwest and Plaza Avenue Northeast, is in the Trumbull County jail without eligibility to make bond after being arraigned Monday on felony domestic-violence and misdemeanor child-endangering charges.
Warren police said they were called to an address on Plaza Avenue at 5:54 p.m. Saturday for a domestic-violence situation in which Moore was accused of swinging his 6-month-old son over his head in a car seat, saying, “This is my kid.”
The child’s mother, Moore’s girlfriend, also said Moore pushed her against the outside wall of the apartment during an argument.
She said the baby was not injured and “didn’t even wake up,” but the officer advised her that Moore’s behavior “could have caused serious physical harm to the child at any time.”
Moore pleaded not guilty to child endangering in Warren Municipal Court; a not-guilty plea was entered for him on the domestic-violence charge.
Moore also pleaded not guilty Monday to reckless operation of a motor vehicle for an incident at 5:07 p.m. Saturday in which he was accused of driving recklessly behind the Giant Eagle supermarket not far from Plaza Avenue.
Police said his car traveled through some grass and into the woods near the Elm Road Drive-in Theater. Moore told the officer who cited him that he had been drinking earlier and arguing with his girlfriend.
