Quilters Day Out planned for May 6

Ohio Star Quilters “Quilter’s Day Out” is scheduled for May 6 at DiVieste Banquet Hall, 754 N. River Road Warren.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and the day’s offerings include coffee, juice and sweet rolls, luncheon, quilts on display and a mini-mall for shoppers to browse and buy quilting items and material.

The featured speaker will be Jim Suzio, an independent consultant and motivational speaker. Featured on the floor will be a raffle for a Brothers Embroidery Machine and a basket raffle. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling 330-847-5377.

Ladies brunch is set at Wayne Town Hall

A ladies brunch is planned for 11 a.m. April 25 at the Wayne Town Hall, 9075 Route 193, at the corner of Route 322.

Included will be the gospel music of Sweet Clover and a basket auction. Donations will be accepted at the door.

The event is hosted by the Women’s Missionary Society of The First Congregational Church of Wayne. Proceeds benefit Hospice of Ashtabula County.

Sign-ups in progress for Camp JCC

YOUNGSTOWN

Registration for Camp JCC 2015, open to all families, is taking place at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The 10-week day camp, from June 8 to Aug. 14, is for children entering first through eighth grades and can be purchased on a week-by-week basis. Campers will participate in daily activities such as swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, and archery.

Specialty camps also are offered including 3D printing, Newscaster Camp, horseback riding and Mad Scientist Camp. In a challenging specialty camp, Circus of the Kids, campers can learn trick roller skating, trapeze and other routines from circus professionals. At the end of the week campers will put on a circus performance for the community. This camp will take place June 28 to July 3.
