YOUNGSTOWN
Andy Och, known as “The First Ladies Man,” will give a free presentation on the C-SPAN series “First Ladies: Influence and Image” at 4 p.m. Monday in DeBartolo Hall Room 132 at Youngstown State University.
Och is a television and multimedia producer, writer and documentarian.
He joined C-SPAN for the two-season television series, “First Ladies: Influence and Image,” which aired in 2013 and 2014. He spent more than a year traveling to countless locations that helped to tell the stories of every first lady of the United States of America.
From Colonial Williamsburg to Stanford University, he was given unprecedented access to some of the nation’s most treasured collections and historical landmarks. This unique and historical journey provides information about this select group of women before, during and after their time in the White House.
Och will present prepared remarks and show portions of his historic work as well as conduct a question-and-answer session. His travels and video documentation are believed to be the largest collection of information gathered about this group of women.
Parking is available for a nominal fee in the M24 lot accessed from Grant Street, closest to McDonald’s on Fifth Avenue.
Och’s appearance is sponsored by YSU’s College of Creative Arts and the English and communications departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
