Awards stolen from home of deceased Ohio filmmaker
AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police in northeast Ohio are searching for suspects after an Emmy award and other collectibles were stolen from the home of a deceased local filmmaker.
Akron police say the items were reported missing from the home of Paul Jacoway last month.
Among the stolen items were an Emmy, two Telly awards, and framed gold records from Tina Turner and Corey Hart that Jacoway received while working at Capitol Records.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports 55-year-old Jacoway died March 9 of natural causes. He produced documentaries on Akron congressman John Seiberling as well as the journalism of Jack and Jim Knight. He most recently taught filmmaking at the University of Akron.
Police released surveillance video from Jacoway’s apartment complex Tuesday showing four people wanted for questioning.
