Warren man faces weapons and drug charges

WARREN — Alvin L. McMillian, 59, of Oak Street and Web Court, is in the Trumbull County jail awaiting arraignment Wednesday on charges filed in Warren Municipal Court of carrying concealed weapons, being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated menacing and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested him at 5:17 p.m. Monday behind the Pit Stop gas station on Youngstown Road after a 19-year-old city man reported that McMillian pointed a rifle at him while he was fixing a flat tire on a vehicle nearby.

When police found McMillian, he had a bag with him containing a semiautomatic rifle, police said. He also had a razor blade and crack pipe in his pockets, police said.

The victim said he was standing at his trunk when McMillian walked past him on the sidewalk on Youngstown Road, then stopped to say something to him, but he couldn’t hear it because of ear phones.

McMillian then put the bag on the ground, pulled out the rifle and pointed it at him, he said. The victim ran away.
