Stephen Hornak threw a one-hitter and struck out five as the Tigers (2-1) blanked the Raiders. Austin Cooley had two hits and Craig Lewis and Nick Badanjek drove in runs for Howland.

Ursuline 8, Springfield 4

STRUTHERS

Winning pitcher Joel Hake struck out nine and walked none for the Irish (1-1) at Cene Park. Vito Petrillo, Gianni Quattro and Drew Potesta each had two hits for Ursuline. Petrillo and Potesta doubled. For the Tigers, Cody Allen had two of their six hits. One was a double.

Springfield 11, McDonald 1

MCDONALD

Dalton Donachie threw a complete-game two-hitter, striking out 10, as Springfield (2-1) cruised past McDonald. Ryan Kohler had two of the Tigers’ three hits. The Blue Devils walked 15 batters. Mike Soots scored the run for McDonald (2-1).

Boardman 6, Evanston (Ill.) 1

VERO BEACH, FLA.

Hudson Widrig (2-0) struck out nine and walked none for the Spartans. Lou Cardona’s two doubles drove in three runs. Drew Wagner, Mike Despetorich and Brian Fryda each had two hits, Despertorich, Mike Notar and Gino Beato all doubled.

COCOA BEACH, FLA.

Adam Knight (2-0) tossed a one-hitter for the Bulldogs, striking out seven. Dom Lipari’s two hits included a double and drove in three runs. Andrew Kosco hit a two-run double while Jared Burkert and Anthony Calcagni also had two hits including doubles. Ricky Svetlak also doubled.

Lakeview 15, Edgewood 0

CORTLAND

Andrew Grove had three strikeouts and no walks over five innings of work in Lakeview’s win over Edgewood (0-2). Grove also went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double at the plate. Brendan Jones was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Bulldogs (2-0), who recorded 10 hits and didn’t commit an error.

Hubbard 10, East Palestine 4

NILES

Drew Bencetic went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Zach Hover had a double and a pair of RBIs for Hubbard in a win over East Palestine. Blaze Chamberlain 2-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Bulldogs (3-1). Mike Fishel struckout three over four innings to get the win for the Eagles (1-0).

Girard 12, Brookfield 2, 6 innings

BROOKFIELD

Austin DiGregory went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Zach Burrelli had two hits and two RBIs and Dylan White drove in three runs in the Indians’ victory. Girard (3-0, 3-0 All-American Conference) also picked up two hits from Kyle Cariot, a double from Isaiah Dunivant, a triple from Kyle Harris and two RBIs from Josh Plant. Harris worked 5 1/3 innings and struck out seven for the win. Brookfield (0-3, 0-3) had just three singles.

Jackson-Milton 8, Lisbon 0

NORTH JACKSON

Eric Ostrowski struck out 14 in six innings and helped his own cause with three hits, including two doubles, as the Bluejays (3-0) blanked the Blue Devils (1-2). Justin Rentz drove in three runs, Scott Mitchell singled twice, Zach Socha had two RBIs and Nate Clark had a double for Jackson-Milton.

Western Reserve 12, Sebring 0

BERLIN CENTER

Evan Nesbitt doubled twice and drove in three runs and Walker Marlowe and Logan Matas each added two RBIs as the Blue Devils beat the Trojans in five innings. John Clegg worked three innings and struck out eight for the win.

South Range 5, Greenbriar Christian 4

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Jordan Youngs homered and drove in three runs and Felecia Gaeta doubled twice and had a triple as the Raiders (3-0) stayed unbeaten. Caragyn Yanek worked five innings for the victory as South Range handed Greebriar (8-1) its first loss.

Western Reserve 13, Sebring 0

BERLIN CENTER

Winning pitcher Aleah Hughes (1-1) tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one. Tory White’s four hits included two doubles and drove in three runs for the Blue Devils (1-2). Hughes drove in three runs with three hits including a double. Maddie Kreitzburg doubled while Abby Hemphill had two hits. S. Smith took the loss for the Trojans.

Mathews 10, Kennedy Catholic 2

SHARON

Cheyenne Eggens recorded 11 strikeouts in four innings of work without allowing a run for Mathews. Meredith Grimes had two doubles, a home run and scored three runs to lead the Mustangs (2-0), who had 14 hits as a team. Taylor Moore threw five innings with three strikeouts and two walks for Kennedy (0-2).

HOWLAND

Sara Price drove in three runs to lead the Tigers’ offense. Leah Pollifrone, Hannah Burke and Gabby Hartzel each had two hits. Burke and Alexis Willoughby doubled. Burke earned the win, striking out 10 and walking none. For the Raiders, Aaronia Rivera homered. Lexi Stano, Chelsea Dipalo, Morgan Honeyward and Taylor Long also had hits.

Canfield 4, T.L. Hanna (S.C.) 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Ally Sammarco’s RBI single in the seventh inning scored Karina Kennedy with the winning run. Maura Kennedy’s three hits included a triple. Winning pitcher Kayla Troxil (1-0) struck out 12, walked five and allowed one earned run.

St. Joseph Academy 7-15, Ursuline 1-5

YOUNGSTOWN

In the first game, Macey Yuhasz pitched a three-hitter and had two hits including a double. For the Irish, Christina Xenakis singled and scored on Jordyn Kenneally’s single. In the six-inning second game, St. Joeseph Academy (3-1) had 12 hits and took advantage of seven Ursuline errors. For the Irish (2-2), Cassie Hanushak’s two hits included a RBI triple. Stephanie Ohalek hit a two-run double.

Lakeview 21, Edgewood 2

ASHTABULA

Winning pitcher Avery Steiner (2-1) struck out three and walked none. Steiner and Kylee Mann had four hits each while Sam Marino had three including a two-run homer. Tori Wells, Alex Romano, McKenna Cannon and Madison Buch each had two. Mann and Cannon drove in four runs, Marino three and Wells two.

Jefferson 14, Struthers 4

JEFFERSON

Preshus Brown and Dana Wilkos each had two doubles, with Brown driving in two runs. Dana Wilkos took the loss, pitching three innings and striking out three.

NILES

Addy Jarvis tossed a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks. Morgan Kist had four hits including a double for the Eagles (3-0). Annie Zagorec’s two hits included a double. Alivia Sandberg and Lea Munnell each drove in two runs. For the Red Dragons (1-1), Hannah Wharton struck out six.

Winning pitcher Haylee Gardiner (2-0) struck out eight and walked one. The Golden Flashes scored three unearned runs in the third inning, For the Vikings, M. Meyer had two of their five hits.

Brookfield 4, Girard 1

BROOKFIELD

Alisha Quinlan scattered 10 hits over seven innings and struck out two in Brookfield’s win over Girard. Quinlan also added a double at the plate. Karlee Byrne and Gabby Cario both went 2-for-4 for the Indians (2-1). Girard out-hit Brookfield 10-2.

Springfield 4, McDonald 2

MCDONALD

Josie Applegarth struck out seven batters over seven innings to liftSpringfield to a win over McDonald. Taylor Johnston added a pair of singles for the Tigers. Rachel Ward and Kerrigan McDermott each tripled for the Blue Devils (1-2).

Youngstown Christian 17, East 7

BOARDMAN

Michelle Linbeck gave up only two hits in five innings to help Youngstown Christian beat East. Sarah Rogers went 4-for-4 and was a triple shy of the cycle for the Eagles (1-1). Ijhontay Heard scored two runs for the Panthers (0-2).
