Little Firecrackers Pageant again planned for festival

ELLWOOD CITY, PA.

The Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival, July 3, 4 and 5, will feature the second annual Little Miss and Little Mr. Firecracker Patriotic Pageant for children ages 4 through 7 when it celebrates its 35th year.

This year’s pageant is scheduled for 11 a.m. July 3 on the main stage in Ewing Park, on Joffre Street.

The pageant, which began last year, had 15 children entered and a large crowd to watch the winners be named, which opened the three-day festival.

Each entrant in the pageant will be honored for their participation and must live within a 10-mile radius of Ellwood City or attend an Ellwood City school. Contestants will need the sponsorship of a local business that will cover the $25 entrance fee. All businesses will receive verbal recognition during the pageant.

Applications and entry fees must be submitted by May 15 to Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce, 314 Fifth St., Ellwood City, PA, 16117.

A required informational meeting for contestants and their parents or guardians will take place at 6 p.m. May 27 in the main shelter of Ewing Park.
