Tech camp offered at YSU this summer

Youngstown State University is teaming with Tech Corps to offer a free Techie Camp on campus this summer.

The YSU camp, one of several to take place this summer in Youngstown and Lorain County, will be June 29 to July 3 and will focus on robotics. Students will explore basic engineering and programming as they interact with Lego Mindstorms NXT robots.

The camp is a weeklong technology experience designed specifically to engage elementary and middle-school students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology.

Twenty students will attend the YSU camp. Students must be fourth-through-eighth-graders this fall and live in Lorain County, Youngstown or New Castle, Pa.

In all, 10 Techie Camps will be in various locations throughout Lorain County and the Youngstown area this summer. Application deadline is April 17. For information and for an application, visit http://techcorps.org/nordson.
