Hermitage, Pa., man charged with drug offenses in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN — A Hermitage, Pa., man spent most of the weekend in the Mahoning County jail after his arrest on drug charges in a South Side parking lot about 2:20 p.m. Saturday.
Reports said officers were called to a parking lot on Glenwood Avenue for a report of two men taking drugs in a parked car. Reports said an officer spotted a car matching the description with three men inside pull behind a gas station in the 2600 block of Glenwood. When the driver started putting a tourniquet on his arm, the officer approached the car.
The driver, James Kelly, 28, told police he was taking someone to a friend’s house, but he could not give an address, reports said. Reports said Kelly gave permission for the car to be searched and police found a belt, a spoon, two syringes, a dose of heroin in Kelly’s wallet and marijuana underneath a child seat.
Kelly is charged with possession of drugs/heroin and possession of drugs/marijuana.
