YWCA schedules equal-pay event

The YWCA of Youngstown will have an equal-pay event and networking mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. April 17 at Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave.

The event will raise awareness for the gender wage gap that still exists. Attendees are encouraged to wear red in acknowledgment of “women’s wallets in the red.” Drink specials, games and basket raffles are included.

Two Trainers fitness center opens

Owners of Two Trainers fitness center at 7825 South Ave. recently celebrated the grand opening of the 1,200-square-foot personalized workout center.

The co-owners are sisters Alison Straub Zabel and Stephanie Straub. They are lifelong Mahoning Valley residents and certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors through the National Exercise Trainers Association. For information, go to two-trainers.com.

Chamber, council community update

CANFIELD

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and its Canfield Area Council will have their first evening-hours community update.

The “Good Evening, Canfield” event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 16 at the Tippecanoe Country Club, 5870 Tippecanoe Road. The event will include the traditional “five in five,” five-minute updates from five community leaders.

Among the topics will be the Ohio Department of Transportation construction on U.S. Route 224 and state Route 11.

Social media seminar planned

HOWLAND

Shepherd of the Valley will host “10 Tips & Tricks of Social Media” at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Shepherd of the Valley in Howland, 4100 N. River Road NE.

The interactive seminar will include topics on Face-book, Twitter and Instagram. It will feature Adam Earnheardt, Youngstown State University’s chairman of the department of communications. Earnheardt is also a social media columnist for The Vindicator.

The seminar is free and includes refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to bring along any devices they may use to access social media sites such as their phone, tablet or laptop.

New stretch wrappers

Liberty Technologies, a Millwood Inc. of Vienna company, has rolled out a complete new line of branded stretch wrappers. A stretch wrapper is a machine that wraps plastic around items.The Liberty stretch wrappers will be available in standard configuration, modified standard and custom-engineered.
