Michael Greene was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Aquinas (3-0), which led 7-0 after four innings. Noah Richards had two hits for Salem (1-2).

Medina Invitational

MEDINA

Joe Harrington won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and helped Austintown Fitch win two sprint relays en route to the team title, easily beating Medina 153.5-119.5. Harrington joined Darrin Hall, Savon McWreath and Frank Geidner on the winning 4x200 and 4x400 relays, while Geidner also won the 400. Fitch senior pole vaulter Dylan Latone broke the meet record by a foot, clearing 14 feet, six inches. Junior Carlos Herriott won the high jump (6-2), while junior Logan Kusky was second in the discus and the shot put. On the girls side, Ebony Davis won the 100 and joined Makaila Barbel, Tyra Barnes and Eva Rivera on the first-place 4x200 relay. Those four also placed second in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

William E. Ward Invitational

Zach Robbins won the high jump competition with a length of 6-02 to help West Branch place second overall at the William E. Ward Invitational. Eathan Bailey placed first in both the 110 high hurdles and the 300 hurdles for Salem, which finished third overall. Josh Pickett (100) and Nick Monteleone (LJ) were winners for East Palestine (6th).

Mackenzie Ferenchak won the long jump and finished second in both hurdling events to help the Raiders win the team title, besting Berkshire 135-92. South Range’s Mollie Pierson won the 3200, Catherine Schuler won the shot put and Andrea Oliver won the high jump. Newton Falls’ Tori Blandine won the 100 and the 300 hurdles and teammate Kayla Barreca won the discus. On the boys side, Hubbard senior Matt Jones broke the meet record in the shot put by nearly six inches, tossing 56-01/4. The West Virginia football recruit also won the discus with a throw of 154-1, one inch off the meet record. South Range’s Joe Alessi (100), LaBrae’s Keevon Harris (300 hurdles) and Newton Falls’ Austin Brown (long jump) won individual events.
