Spill of unidentified substance in Lake Erie ceases

The U.S. Coast Guard says the spill of an unidentified substance coming from some type of outflow pipe into Lake Erie at a Northeast Ohio yacht club appears to have stopped.
But a Coast Guard spokesman said Saturday crews were still investigating the spill reported Friday in the basin of the Forest City Yacht Club.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Yaw says barriers were set up to keep the substance from spreading farther into the lake. He says a survey of nearby marinas didn’t find any others affected.
Samples of the substance were sent to a lab for analysis.
