Sallmens mark 60th milestone at surprise party

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The family of John and Shirley Sallmen of New Castle, Pa., honored the couple with a surprise dinner party March 28 for their 60th wedding anniversary. The celebration, for which invitations were extended, took place at First Assembly of God.

The couple’s children are John and Denise Sallmen, Shirley Baird (Kerby), Cindy and Jimmy Sager, Tammy and Bob Anderson and Terri and Nick Coiro, all of New Castle; Kim and Brian Catale of New Wilmington, Pa.; Richard and Shirley Sallmen of Enon Valley, Pa.; and Joseph and Michelle Sallmen of Edinburg, Pa.

The couple’s family includes 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sallmen, the former Shirley Ann Boughter, and Mr. Sallmen were married March 26, 1955, at Grace Bible Church.

She is the owner of Shirley’s Shopper Advertising, and she is a member of First Assembly of God.

Mr. Sallmen is employed by Don’s Services as a health care giver.
