The parent company of Vallourec Star, a Youngstown steel-pipe producer for the energy industry, named Nicolas de Coignac as head of Vallourec’s North America operations. Vallourec, a world leader in premium tubular solutions primarily for the energy markets, announced de Coignac’s position Thursday.

In his new function, de Coignac will lead all Vallourec businesses in North America and drilling operations worldwide. He reports directly to Philippe Crouzet, chairman of the group. He joined the Vallourec Group in 1992 as hot-rolling mill manager for the Valti division.

Slot revenue down

HARRISBURG, PA.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Thursday total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during March was down 3.9 percent compared with the amount generated a year ago. According to the report, this March’s gross revenue from slot-machine play was $207,712,396, compared with $216,213,980 of gross revenue in March 2014. Tax revenue from slot-machine play generated in March of this year was $110,788,626.

People struggling with a bad credit score, or lack of one, could benefit from a program rolling out in the next few months aimed at making it easier to get a Visa or MasterCard. The company behind the widely used FICO credit score announced Thursday a pilot program to help millions of Americans get easier access to credit, based on their record of paying utility bills instead of their history of loan repayments.
