Man shot on North Side

YOUNGSTOWN
A Tampa Avenue man was shot in the chest about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday on the North Side.
Jazzmen Blackmon, 30, is being treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Reports said a woman flagged down police who were called to Dupont and Robinwood avenues for a shooting. She told them her husband had been shot.
Reports said Blackmon’s wife told officers she and her husband and children were visiting her mother in the 2700 block of Robinwood Avenue when a car pulled up and someone inside the car fired several shots, hitting Blackmon.
Reports said, however, the wife changed her story at the hospital, saying Blackmon was arguing with his mother and that Blackmon’s stepfather shot him. She also described to police a different kind of gun from the one they found at the shooting scene.
Police found a .38-caliber revolver near the shooting scene with six empty shell casings in the cylinder, reports said.
Blackmon’s mother told police she heard several shots and tires squealing, reports said.
