Canfield man faces assault charges after attacking girlfriend, police say

BOARDMAN — A Canfield man faces felonious assault, aggravated menacing and aggravated trespass charges after police said he assaulted his 16-year-old girlfriend.

Township police arrested Nicholas Garritano Jr., 19, of Villa Rosa Drive, after he reportedly attacked his girlfriend while her parents attempted to stop him. Police said the victim's arm may have been broken.

Police found Garritano after he fled the scene. He was released on bond, pending a court appearance.
