Youngstown man shot in Warren

WARREN — A Youngstown man was sent to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg he suffered Wednesday afternoon while walking at Hazelwood and Milton avenues Southeast.

The man, 34, said he was walking a dog with two other men at 5:45 p.m. when he heard someone say, "Hey."

He turned to see two males standing in the road.

He said he didn't recognize them and continued walking, then heard gunshots and felt one hit him. He fell but got up and went to a house on Burton Street to call 911.

Police found nine spent shell casings in the area where the victim said they should be.
