A Rush Boulevard man is in the Mahoning County jail on $100,000 bond after he was arraigned in municipal court on a burglary charge Wednesday.
Floyd McDuffie, 22, is accused of breaking into a home in the 2200 block of McGuffey Road about 12:15 p.m. Monday.
Reports said a woman in the home told police she was sleeping in her bedroom and she was awakened by McDuffie, who touched her.
The woman told police when she was awakened she screamed and ran out a back door. She gave a description of the man in her home when police showed up, and police found McDuffie, who matched that description, at Kimmel and Scioto avenues, reports said.
Reports said she also identified McDuffie as the man who broke into her home when police took her to where he was being held.
In court, Assistant City Prosecutor Shelli Freeze told Judge Elizabeth Kobly that McDuffie has a 2009 rape conviction as a juvenile and another juvenile conviction in 2011 for harassment by bodily fluid.
As an adult, Freeze said he has convictions for burglary and carrying a concealed weapon, both within the last two years.
